Simms looks hot
Wowzers. Looks like the Vols might actually have decent QBs this fall. Check out this story about Matt Simms from GoVolsXtra.com.

O well
Well, the guys in Orange didn't win the World Cup but that's no reason to pout. Shout for joy instead by gazing upon this row of gorgeous OVs at the Hoover Construction Co. near La Vergne, Tenn. Photo provided by the blog's faithful Yulee correspondent.

O Karma, O Karma
This photo. OMG. This photo I was intending to save for the opening day of college football season, given it's awesome sweetness.
But then events just as sweet occurred this week that I compel me to publish it RIGHT NOW.
The news? Tennessee coach Derek Dooley is basically raiding the USC roster of awesome players. [Background: USC is now the home of Lane Kiffin, who bolted to the Trojans after just one year as UT's head coach. Not long after Kiffin arrived in Calif., his program was hit with major sanctions because the previous coach wasn't running the program legally, according to the NCAA.]
So I learned about Dooley's awesome thievery in text messages tonight from my pal and fellow UT grad Craig TerBlanche. A big shout out to him for making my night with texts like this:
"Dooley faxed a letter to USC letting them know which players he was recruiting. He listed every junior and senior on the roster."
OMG, too cool. Giggle.
One of those players, GoVolsXtra.com has reported, has decided to transfer.
"Dooley said today he is expecting 5 more USC players to visit Knoxville this weekend," Craig said in another text. "It's a free for all on USC talent and UT is taking full advantage."
How is this NOT karma?
Jeff
PS -- an irony here is that the photo was taken at the Brumos 250 in Daytona over the weekend by Times-Union photographer Bruce Lipsky, who's really made a name for himself on the BOVB. It's ironic because Lipsky is a Gators fan.

Blog welcomes OV, new punter
Here's a great OV my friend and fellow Tennessee alumn Logan Lark sent some time ago. Here's what he said: "we were about to go on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (it was on "Modern Marvels").
Also, I think the driver is Suzanne Summers (?)"
Meanwhile, in football news (the time is approaching!) I loved this headline from GoVolsXtra.com: "Matt Darr, nation's top punter for 2010 class, signs with Vols."
Most college football fans don't get real excited about punters. But Tennessee fans do. We punt a lot and rely on defense to give the offense another shot at a three-and-out.

Happy Fourth from the BOVB!
It's the Fourth of July and for a lot of folks that means being on or at least near some kind of body of water. To honor that tradition, the BOVB is happy to display these Orange watercraft. The freighter was submitted by LL up in Yulee, the motorboat by my brother who saw it at the airport in Knoxville. The houseboat up top was spotted by correspondent James Rink, who sent this pic from Louisville, Tenn. Thanks every one!

Flying High
What, two BOVB posts in one day?
Heck yeah. And expect more of the same as football season draws near.
Just wanted to report a little UT news for those of you (like me) who may have missed it: The Vols nailed down an awesome QB prospect recently — and that's the best news since learning that Lane Kiffin decided to slink back to California.
GoVolsXtra.com reported that Tennessee got a commitment from a kid named Justin Worley. Scout.com raved about him recently, saying Worley "has great size (6-4) that immediately draws attention his way and he has shown good leadership as well." Reports say he turned down offers from the likes of Notre Dame and LSU to play for the Big Orange. You can read more about him HERE.
Anyway, news like that deserved another OV pic, so enjoy this sweet F-5 fighter plane Yulee correspondent Larry L. sent a long from the Museum of Flight in Seattle.
